Hi Believer, You need to get on an online wagering service of some kind. Youbet Ect !! While I must admit that if there were a track near where I live I'd be there every night, but I would never spend my evening sitting in an old scroungy OTB outlet. I do think I have an advantage working from the house. I have eveything I need right at my desk with no distractions. Right within reach I have results, racing charts & past programs. I can even click over to watch a replay of the horses' last race in an instant. I have also found now that I recently got Hi Speed internet that I can make last min. wagers within seconds of the start of a race, which helps if the odds suddenly change. ( Nobody is in front of me in line !! ) Ocala Jim. ;D $$$$ ;D

I know that i should have an on-line account( still thinking about getting one) , the otb i use is an Irish pub...quite nice (just spent a fortune remodeling) . I make my wagers early , then watch on internet at home. Two good things come from doing it this way a)- i spend a budgeted amount ....b) i can't change my mind(wager)... Several drawbacks to doing it this way are , i 'm at the mercy of the local track as to what is simulcast , b -i sometimes wager on horses that in person i would not normally bet , example -a horse bet down below even money in a straight win bet
Hope the horses are good to you today Ocalajim at Harrington. I 'll be watching your picks come in! ;D

Well guys , i have had 4 out of the first 5 race winners but only one tri if i had played and keyed or boxed my selections.
Blackwater , congrats on that amazing two day performance in the mini-contest and your 7 wins on Sat IN THE challenge.
Speaking of the $100 challenge . Ocalajim , you had 8 wins..terrific on any card of racing....congrats to you on the big win!

I have to agree with O-Jim on this one - the online wagering sites are easy, fun, and cost-effective (especially with fuel costs WELL over $3 a gallon!). I can check the odds right up to post, even place wagers up to a minute or more AFTER post time. That, and I'm in the comfort of my own home (away from home right now) with a cold one in my hand, nacho's on a plate in front of me, big dumb doggie at my feet.......... that's the life! You should give it a try - we'd see more of you on race night! BW |

Boy,you are hot tonight Believer !!! 8 for 9 so far is about the best I've seen anyone do. Looks like Brett's win record on a Sat. nite at NFLD. I haven't gotten hurt too bad ,as I only actually bet a little to win & place on the ones with the grins. We'll try again tomorrow. Ocala Jim.
