Does anyone know if this driver raced at Rideau Carlton in Ottawa for many years ? Don't know if he raced at Rideau Carlton, but O'Dwyer raced at Northfield years ago and was one of the leading drivers, along with Mitch Sahely. There were some rumors about race fixing but I never heard about any official sanctions.

If Don's drive last night was indicative of his current driving ability, he should stay in Canada (no offense Believer).

O'Dwyer is listed on six horses this Friday night at Northfield. It also looks like Arod and Brett Miller will be missing from the mix.

It's still early, but after three programs, Don O'Dwyer hasn't shown the magic of his early years. Except for leaving with one horse on Friday night, I haven't seen aggressive driving yet. I can see that he is overweight, but is he over the hill too?
Perhaps Giss can answer this question: when the driving colony thins out somewhat, does Northfield try to recruit drivers from other tracks or does the word go out informally (word of mouth from barn to barn) that there are driving opportunities? I think Northfield actually recruited Walter Case, right?
