I agree 100% with Believer. " Locks of the night" @ 3/5 make terrible flat bets, but they do work well as exotic keys. My favorite play is straight exactas behind these "lock" keys. You can very often turn a 3/5 key into a very profitable exacta. Last night's $42.00 ex. behind Century Club is a good example. The night ( 4-04 ) that I took the lead in the contest my best hit came off Eagle Creek Patrol at 3/5 with very pickable Silencer @ 36-1 for 2nd that produced a whopping $60.00 exacta. You can almost always get more for the exacta's than for the flat bet at 3/5. Ocala Jim.

They also can be viable as singles in Pick 4s and Pick 3s, if you like lonhsgots in other legs (or don;t like faves). With Philo Beddoe, might be adouble play to link up.
Battle Night I loved SAND CALADY (singled in P4 and 3rd leg of P3) and really liked Pine Hill Jewel- always good off layoff, value play. Hated the middle leg. Thought SC would be 1-2 and PHJ would be 9-5. She went off at 3+-1 and played an all in the middle leg. Paid $600+. With my budget, I would not have been able to play an all without at least one single.
