KEITH, FRIDAY NIGHT'S PROGRAM WAS PRINTED IN A DIFFERENT TYPESET THAN THE NORMAL NORTHFIELD TYPESETTING. THE FRIDAY PROGRAM WAS GLOSSIER AND THE TYPE FACE WAS THINNER, MAKING THE PROGRAM HARD TO READ. I DID LIKE THE RACE COMMENTS TO THE RIGHT OF THE RACE LINES, BUT ALL IN ALL, THE OLD PROGRAM WAS EASIER TO READ.
IS NORTHFIELD GOING TO CHANGE TO THE NEW TYPEFACE OR WAS THIS JUST A ONE DAY EXPERIMENT?
I DONT KNOW IF MY PRINTING TERMINOLOGY IS CORRECT BUT YOU GET THE IDEA, DONT YOU KEITH?

Realmujuice , i asked a similar question of Keith regarding the m/l entries which now include trainer and last three finishes by the horse. Below is the answer Keith provided.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wish I could take credit, but its part of the new USTA system being implemented--new program format starts next week (USTA is standardizing all programs).

BELIEVER, THE REASON I ASKED IF IT WAS AN EXPERIMENT WAS BECAUSE THE PROGRAM HAD A NEW TYPEFACE ON FRIDAY, BUT THEN SATURDAY AND MONDAY'S PROGRAMS ARE BACK TO THE OLD FORMAT.

This is the new standardized program that the USTA has mandated. All tracks will have this style within a year o rso. We are one of the first guinea pigs and despite the protests of myself and Dave B, I am not sure where things will end uip. There were so many complaintsm, we webt back to tthe olkd system, but that will no longer be supported so I am not sure what will end up happening.

They must be looking 4 a younger croud.I had to use a higher powerd set of reading glasses to read that program. The comments about being parked or blocked.used to be in the programs back in the 80's.Cant give the new breed to much info, they will cut the value horses back.lol.They can have the new program. It -ucks.Maybe they have a deal with the eyeglass company.
