Nice stretch drive for the come from behind victory. The Florida sunshine must have been rehabilitating.

To Jay and the many others who offered congratulations through e-mail or PM's - thank you. I still feel bad about swooping to victory based on a lucky $1 gimmick bet. Truly I was hoping to cash enough with one of my final night wagers to get back to the original $2,500 starting level. Never did I imagine that a $1 bet would pay enough to get me to the top of the leader board.
Not sure if this will be an advantage or disadvantage but I'm heading off to Los Angeles the final week of August so no swooping this month. If I win it will be due to building a large early lead and holding on. Although; now that I think about it, I will be joining my former race horse co-owner Andy at Los Alamitos to watch the quarter horses on friday Aug 31st. They'll probably simulcast Northfield, and I can use Andy's home computer to log on and if I have a few dollars left in the handicapping account....hmmm maybe another final night $1 supefecta miracle?

Believer:
For the first time in three weeks I'm planning to do a full card analysis for Friday's card. My selections; which I'll post in the weekend mini-contest, will probably be just be my top two "number" results. I usually only use the number system as a base and combine that with other traditional handicapping methods to come up with potential betting opportunities. However a couple of things play against that this week. First, I haven't seen them run since early July. Second, with the stake races at Scioto most of the top drivers will be there. With a card full of second tier and catch drivers I'll just try to pick the best "numbers"horses and see what happens.

Thanks Jim , you'll do ok , the Friday card of F&M always seems to be friendly to number's guys ...remembering our mentor Cliff , he always loved the Friday card of racing !
