Took a trip North for the weekend.
1st stop Presque Isle to catch Hannah's race via simulcast. My first stop at this facility. As I would have thought a majority of the cars there had Buckeye plates - Our Governor should have to sit at the entrance of that lot and get flogged for every car with Ohio plates that pulls in - maybe he will then understand the beating he is giving his state.
The thing that surprised me though was not the fact that many of the cars were from our great state or that the casino was well attended - it was the amount of people wagering on the races in the simulcast areas. Both areas were packed with people standing and milling around spilling beer all over from their $2 drafts as there was no place to sit. Although well lit so you could read the program it was like standing in line at Disney world.
After spending Saturday Morning on the backstretch at Buffalo where I got to see the 2yr olds school behind the gate - we just mellowed out all afternoon to get to the tack in time for dinner and find out the gray had injured himself just prior to us getting there.
Although one would have thought this would have ruined the weekend it may have it not for the camaraderie of Jim, Jack and company. We exchanged racing and handicapping stories as well as just general all around great conversation. I have learned that if an exacta looks like it paid short at Northfield just call it the Doc factor.
The Dr. hammered a couple of exacta's that night and hit quite impressive. Thaks Jimhorseman and company for a very enjoyable evening.
