Has Northfield decided to limit fields to 8 horses? I am only seeing 8 in a race - even when there are also AE's in the field. Anyone know why the change?

Ten of the thirteen races on Friday night had fields of nine.

I was looking at entries for next week and all the races are 8 horses (or less) - even when more horses were in the box. I was just wondering if there was a reason for the change.
I have a friend that owns a horse that is AE - even though only 8 horses are in the race.

Now that they are racing five days a week, instead of four AND they have the extra three races on Wednesday, there might be a shortage of horses. Just a guess, though.

From talking to people, sounds like their is a bit of a shortage of new horses there. Things might change a little in a couple of weeks with the Blooded horse sale happening.
