Thank you for the welcome. Have to keep this short as I am heading out to bet Northfield in just a few short minutes. I am based near Buffalo, NY and grew up following the Buffalo/Batavia circuit. Began following the horses about 25 years ago when my best friends dad invited me to the track as he owned horses. Spent a summer cleaning stalls, feeding and cleaning the animals. I was hooked. I discovered Northfield about ten years ago via the simulcast and soon it became my favorite track to handicap and wager. Still is today. I have kept an eye on the various boards throughout the years though have remained fairly quiet. Though he may not remember I did briefly exchange e-mails and handicapping strategy with Cliff years ago and generally say hello to the Giss when my friends and I make our quarterly trip to Cleveland. I have dabbled in ownership and am currently a partner with a friend who owns a couple mares based and racing in Pompano. Looking forward to exchange of ideas and maybe getting involved with the december contest.

Thanks for the reply,it's great to know a little history of the various members, since you are familiar with Northfield racing, you will definitley fit right in on this board, you can also help us with the Buffalo horses that make the trip to Northfield ,now and again.I have been to Buffalo many times ,over the almost 40 years of my following of harness racing-Jim,do you remember Carmen Hie racing at Buffalo in the late 70's early 80's.Patsy Rapone and Ed Mcneight were favorites, when i went there (80's i think)quite a few times.I hope you enjoy this handicapping board and do decide to join us in the Dec contest.
I hope you had lot's of winners tonight!

I'm glad I didn't try to impress the others with my opinion of the friday races. After getting crushed at the windows last night I'm sure the others would have questioned if I'm handicapping or using darts to make my selections. Though I now work for the U.S. Postal service I was formerly a Senior Commerical Credit Analyst for a major international bank and that background has two influences on my harness hobby. First, I have developed a statistical numerical rating system which I do by hand and which is time consuming and tedious but provides the basic foundation for my selections. Second, I keep extensive records on my wagering and keep a running detailed profit and loss statement. While still up nicely this season, november has been my worse month in over three years. I'm hoping the board provides some fresh insight as I may be getting a bit stale or set in my opinions as I analyze the races. By the way, the Buffalo/Batavia racing season closes the first weekend in december. I'm guessing some of the horses/stables may try Northfield for the winter. If anyone is interested in a local opinion of the ship ins, I'd be happy to oblige.
