I took the names out but was really pissed about this and it called for action.
I am writing to you because of the way simulcasting is done on the
upper lever bar area. For the ML to show over four screens with
Australia racing on one side which almost no one bets is a total
disgrace. To put Northfield on a side screen making patrons get up and
watch the race is not consumer friendly. They even had Charlestown on
side by side screens right next to each other I couldn't understand that
either. They only showed one of your host track the Meadowlands. The
bartender said he had no control over the screens it was controlled by
the Sports Authority. When I said I'm going to write a letter one of the
people who work up there said "the only response you will get is that
your taxes will be raised".
I live in NJ and usually drive by the Meadowlands constantly to do my
harness watching from Yonkers raceway and I don't play slots. They let
us put on any track we choose on the main or side screens that's what I
call consumer friendly. The only reason I was there yesterday was that
Yonkers was closed. Can you imagine me driving another 30 plus miles
when the premier harness track in America is so close by?
You can pass this on to ever is in charge of the terminals please. Last
night there were numerous times that the automated machines couldn't
read my ticket because there wasn't enough ink in them.A teller told me
to take a pen and darken certain lines on the bottom of the tickets.
This has never happened to me at any other track in the country.
Your track gets more of a takeout if I attend there compared to a
simulcast takeout. If you wish to see my continued attendance with my
friends I would like to see these problems corrected so once again the
Meadowlands can become my "home" track. I did take a poll upstairs and
not one person bet Australia till I mentioned it. One gentlemen then bet
a race after hearing me tak and found out it takes 30 minutes for the
race to be official. He was not very happy about that saying "I have to
come back to cash a winning ticket". Northfield definitely gets more
play just by watching the number of patrons watching the screens and
moving around. Go upstairs yourself and take a look to see if the facts
I'm stating are accurate.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope your "employees"
statement was wrong.
Thanks for your comments Mark. There are definitely certain areas of
the building that have poor coverage for certain signals.
Unfortunately, the way the building was wired many years ago, the
bartenders or people directly on the floors can't change an individual
television. They are hard-wired to a specific channel.
I think from your description you were probably talking about the
Clubhouse Level. I'll take a look at some of the tv layouts there
tonight and have our electricians re-wire some spots where needed.
