While looking at the stats on The Northfield Park website i noticed that Jay owns or has owned in the past 5 of the 25 winningest horses at Northfield this year ! I think this also shows that Jay is great judge of claimers and races them where they belong.....except one horse.....anyone know this horse ??
RICCAFELLA CENTER 33 12 36% 5 15% 3 9% 0.478 61% -18% $15,990 $485
IAMGONNABEACHYOU 38 9 24% 9 24% 4 11% 0.404 58% -9% $19,695 $518
SHARON'S FUTURE 28 9 32% 5 18% 3 11% 0.456 61% 26% $13,490 $482

I thought he was bought for 14K but I could be wrong. But part of the problem Jay had with Fella was noone wanted to drive him, I gues he was a total nut case. His temper was worse than Sharon and Hannah's combined! Although /hannah i much much sweeter now.

Sharon's future - purchase price $2000
Iamgonnabeachyou - purchase price $2500
Hannah's Dragon - claimed her twice for $3600
Toy And Ricky both race for less than their purchase price
Toy was $8500 and never lived up to what I thought his potential was
Ricky was $4500 and may still be worth it - but he is a wack job
My fella claimed him for $8000 and the only one who was not afraid to drive him was Elliot Deaton - problem was Mark usually had one in against him and he had to drive that one, So when Elliot's owner offered to buy him for $14000 I sold. As well as Fella does the Gray has much more talent, that is why I had to take a shot with him out East. Call it the Mt Fella education.

He is in to go Monday night at Yonkers. Heidi Rohr is trainer. I paln to race him there and hopefully at the Meadowlands. We are planning a trip around Christmas with the hope he gets in out there that weekend.
This start will be 1st time lasix. Was told today he is still not quite 100% Left front foot blew 2 gravels this past week and he no longer has any tenderness in that one. Right front he is a little tender and one or more needs to blow out. If it does before the race he will be tough to beat if not he will still be competitive just not at his best.
Once winter hit and Northfield puts down the stone it wreaks havoc on a horse with tender feet. Hell it wreaks havoc on any horse and vet bills jump in the winter. It is like if we were to run barefoot on the a golf course all summer and then in the winter we had to run barefoot down an old gravel road. The problem is some people just don't care about the welfare of the horses.
