I toyed with the idea of wagering in the contest tonight-all 11 races that included drivers ,A .Merriman,E Deaton,R Stahl and G Grismore......EX AND TRI BOXES.......so far ,they are doing what top drivers do .......these 4 drivers have combined to make up the 2nd,3rd and 6th race ..EX and TRI COMBINATIONS
R2- EX $90.80...TRI $408.80 R3- EX $15.20...TRI $79.00 R6- EX $10.......TRI $42.80 R7- EX$6..........TRI $27.60 R9- EX $54.80...TRI $203.40 R12-EX $120.80.TRI $477.20
totals $2 ex-$297.60 $2 tri $1238.80
11 race $2 wager cost (ex) 132.00 $2 tri cost $528.00
i would only have been able to wager $1 boxes on both totaling 11 x $36=$396.00 total winnings $768.20...profit on this particular night would have been $372.20 ...

Yes, that scheme sure would have worked last night, but then again the top drivers had the top horses, so it isn't surprising.
Here is another one for you. On Saturdays how many winners also won one of their previous two starts? Last Saturday is a good example, 9 of 14. (I'm fudging it just a bit including I'm Here To Win in the 6th, who was claimed, jumped to the 15's for one start, and was now dropping back to his normal 10 claiming level). The exceptions were class droppers and prohibitive favorites Whosethemaster in the 5th and Bonn Star in the 14th; Trackrat's pick of the night, Perfect Door in the 4th; my hunch play Norman Pheeny in the 7th (won three starts back), and my value play Up Front Guy in the 11th.
All the rest had won within the last two weeks (an indication of winning form), and all save one (King Cole) won from inside posts.
Post and form will undoubtedly be tonight's theme as well.
