Good blog Giss. And yes it raises more questions than answers. Yup, most harness racing fans are older than 45. And yes, they are the ones with the most disposable cash. No, cheaper food and $1 beers will not draw the 20's crowd. It's not a nightclub atmosphere, No dancing, no abundance of "hot chicks" or "hunks". (unless you hire hooters girls and male dancers, as tellers). Nope, you have got to get them younger than that, even before they can gamble. And all you have to do is expose them to HORSES. Then expose them to the horse folks, and everything that goes into preparing a horse to race. Young horses and overnight racers. My kid's were not really into it until I had one turned out in our barn. Once thet actually met a horse and had some one on one time, that was it! Now they argue who takes better care of the animal. It's impossible for me to go to the track without kids. They even jog ( depending on the horse). They groom, and clean the stall, without being asked. Anything they can do to be around horses. Now I understand that NFLD can't have family days, for school kids in the back stretch, introducing them to the sport and Horses, handing out comic books about Messenger. But what about the county fairs, and private training facilities? If you get it in thier blood young, they will be back. just my opinion They have opinions about how the horse ran
