Keith, with Gregg Keidel's appointment as Racing Secretary at Hoosier Park in 2009, will he be relinguishing his Northfield duties permanently or will he take a leave of absence. Isn't it a conflict of interest, even now, since he supposedly will be trying to attract quality race horses to both Hoosier and Northfield Park?

Isn't it a conflict of interest, even now, since he supposedly will be trying to attract quality race horses to both Hoosier and Northfield Park? As he did last year when he went to Running Aces, Greg is taking a leave of absence. If top men (to quote Tony Rizzo) felt it was a conflict of interest, they would not have allowed him to leave. Last year, Team Mapes and Duanel Miller headed to Minnesota w/Greg. I personally believe the situation in Indiana is different, as many of our horsemen were already heading there to race each year.

Does Greg own stock in the company or what? In real life, I would think there are few companies who would allow one of their employees to take a leave of absence, go work for a competitor and then return back to the job. Of course, with Greg being underpaid by Northfield (as you are too), perhaps Northfield management is willing to let Hoosier and Running Aces supplement Greg's income, rather than Northfield increasing his salary.
