Riccafella Center is one of four finalists for 2008 Horse of the Year at Northfield, along with Lite Me Up, Sharon's Future and Dunkster.
Congratulations ;D

Jay:
You must be slipping as you only owned two of the three horses nominated for Horse of the Year during 2008. What's that? There are four horses nominated? Oh, I didn't see the comma in Giss's original post. Silly me.....I thought the "Lite Me Up" before Sharon's Future was a comment on her recent form.

Giss - I would tell Ricky but it might go to his head. I actually am anticipating he will take a big step forward here in the near future.
Jim - did not own Sharon at all in 2008. She was claimed in Nov 07. The one thing with Sharon is that she is the one horse that makes Ricky look sane. She will always be special to me and I will always be routing for her to win.

Jay:
Wow - can't believe it has been 15 months since Sharon was claimed - time sure does fly. By the way, hope that Loretta and yourself had a terrific holiday season. Also, that your Dad enjoyed seeing one of your horses race live at the Big M.

Looks like the thirteenth race exacta came up a little short last night. Hope it's because Jay and crew pounded it for a few extra bucks.

I wish it was I that wagered on Ricky. I left early and actually ended up in bed with some nasty bug for the past couple of days. I did put a measly $20 win on him and thought that payoff was generous. I think Keith picking him scared the win bettors away.
Speaking of Ricky it is my belief that he will win more races this year than last and ,with that said I believe Sharon's Future will win more than him and most likely will get that win streak this year. I have never seen her look better on the track and she races like crap in the winter-she will be awfully tough when the weather breaks

Sharon has been racing exceptionally well and barring any injuries, she can continue to dominate Northfield's current competition in her class. Do you think someone will claim her and try to move her to Buffalo/Meadows/Hoosier, or is she a one-track wonder?

Do you think someone will claim her and try to move her to Buffalo/Meadows/Hoosier, or is she a one-track wonder? Right now I do not see anyone claiming anything. That is why Ricky and her can dominate at their levels. When I had Sharon she only raced 3's and 4's early on after that I rarely dropped her down to5's I had success with her at Monty even though she had no wins out there she was competitive in winners over- a level under the opens. If she was to be claimed to be moved it would have happened in December- Who would want to be in claiming jail for a couple of months. Just My Opinion
