Spring is in the air- the racing gods have been smiling a little my way, Toy is racing decently- the Gray qualifies Tomorrow, someone was brave enough to take Ricky- and the best of all news is Hannah got the green light to resume her racing career and will be back on the grounds of Northfield park tonight to start training.
With all that I decided to knock the cobwebs off and take a shot at handicapping tonight's card. For what it's worth:
Race 1
#3 Sweet potatoe – shifts back inside and looks capable of getting the slight upset
#2 Stonebridge Romeo- will be on the chooch- and may last if not pressured
#5 Packet Fulla Stars – gets my choice over the 1 for the show spot- more flat miles
Race 2
#9 Blue Rock Linnie – used hard out of the 8 hole in 1st start retains the driver
#3 Scooter Two – 5 year old should be better than these lightly raced 3 yr olds
#2 Deal Me Three - 1st time lasix- should be close throughout- likes to finish 3rd
Race 3
#2 Would Ya – worth consideration- has raced on some terrible track conditions
#9 Hard Time Gone – like the driver change, not the post
#4 Royal Tatler – terrible trip in last – prior was better on off track with Angus
Race 4
#1 Sister Kae – appears to be rounding into top form- tread lightly this is a super race
#9 sweetie Peetie – has been finishing well and should get a great trip
#4 Don’t Dally Witch – 3rd start off sick scratch – anticipate improvement
Race 5
#2 Vrahos Again – has been racing well – post shift should get her to the winners circle
#5 Grand Galaxy – gets some much needed class relief – should contend in here
#7 Three Good Fellows- what to do with this one- last 2 were terrible- big drop in class
Race 6
#9 A J Cress – drops to a level he definitely fits- wins with a well timed move
#3 Dewey – young one has a ton of potential – would not surprise me if he destroyed these
#5 Solocam – early line favorite in cheap- training mile- how hard will they go for peanuts
Race 7
#6 Elm Grove Gerson – exploded for new barn- should come right back if on the same regimen
#3 Mans Star – solid mile off the sick scratch – 2nd time lasix is a plus
#5 Take Down Hall- last 2 stunk up the place – Aaron is back – is that a sign of new found form
Race 8
#5 Hey Ray – this is a good one and will be bet that way- gets my choice
#1 Keystone Tristan – another nice one and will be the main contender- tough choice
#7 Colby D – trots up a storm when he gets untracked- if the top 2 get stupid early he could upset
Race 9
#4 Texas Tenderloin – showing signs of waking up – maybe this week
#1 Astroflight – has the rail and just may be able to work out the right trip
#6 Eastwood Atom N – in pretty soft – form is quite suspect though
Race 10
#9 Earnhardt Hanover – in top form – should be his last in this class
#2 Oneforthepresident – when you least expect it this one comes out of his coma- becareful
#7 The Pan Coulee Dam – big mile in last – a repeat of that and he could win it all
Race 11
#7 Sinner’s last ride – 4th start for this 4 yr old this season – may be ready in what is a suspect field
#1 Edition JB – has the rail and will be chalk- don’t think he will be worth the risk
#9 Alpine Hill – 4 yr olds debut of 09 _ capable and would not surprise me if he won
Race 12
#1 Irish Shade – improving and just may have found the right spot
#3 Hoosier Lion – 2 moves in last – this one is in top form- end to consider
#2 JohnnyIsAJohnny- trip horse finishes well – and he should get the needed trip
