Hey Keith...how does this one get in without a claiming tag? I understand eligible at time of entry, but he last raced a week ago, so I don't think that applies (or does it?).

Cliff, if Romeo made no money in his last 2008 start, then he would be at $237PS for his last nine starts and that is one of the conditions for this race (NW250 in last 9 starts).
BTW, Giss said last night on his pre-race program that he was going on vacation. Not sure if it's just a vacation away from Northfield or a true vacation.

Duh...I read right past it. Thanks TR. Another case of Northfield opening up a class to get a specific horse included. Just confuses things. I've never liked the practice and still don't.

Back from North Carolina, somewhat rested, a bit tanned (or maybe that is rust- it rained half the time I was there). Cliff the race was not opened for a specific horse, but rather to get a suitable number of horses into the race. It is a fine line, I know, but there is a difference

I get it, Northfield has to do its best to fill races, given the circumstances. I wish it weren't so, but it is what it is.
