Selections for Monday April 13.
Race 1
#2 Eagle Bette - best proven speed of the group, should improve in second start
#5 This Girls Hot - parked the mile and wouldn't give up, when was the last time Henry won one?
#6 PT Coal - decent qualifier, like his back half last July at the Meadows
#4 Rebel Cheer - speaking of back halves, that was a pretty decent one two back
Race 2 Value Play
#8 Turbo Cress - showed improvement with the barn change, now comes the driver change
#6 Blue Rock Haymaker - has not come back to his qualifying effort, still looks better than most of these
#1 Cruisin Samantha - first time claiming tag, has never had a post this good
#5 Bunnycruiser - triple qualifiers and lasix, could surprise
Race 3
#1 Out Of The Habit - been there, done that, have the pictures to prove it
#5 Oligo Norman - pop quiz - when is Robin Miller a driver upgrade? with this horse, in this race
#3 I Will Come Over - pop quiz - when is Joey Mapes a driver upgrade? you guessed it
#4 Sturdy Falcon - second start back, should improve
Race 4
#8 Laughing Is An Art - good enough to overcome the post
#4 Yankee Ace - more consideration with a fresher date
#9 Quick Way Hall - doesn't need to be at his best to grab a piece of this one
#5 Pat's Cloud - beat them all but the monster last week, should get better
Race 5 Value Play
#6 Gimme Gimme Gimme - major improvement last two, made some money last year
#4 Dees Bomber - this is just the kind of race Dan can, overdue for sure
#9 Master GP Dean - third start in this class, not impressed yet
#3 Potions And Spells - I know it was a bad track last time, but I was expecting more
Race 6 Best Bet
#4 Doowrah's Trifold - first time claiming tag, seems the standout
#6 Wildawyn - can't seem to draw a post, but not much else to choose from
#9 Average Hoss - cut the mile last week, post no help again
#8 Sassa Poo - at least the driver has a clue
Race 7
#6 Bad Boy Bunny - the obvious choice if the track is dry
#2 Ice Cream Stand - paced under 2 last week, how many others can say that?
#1 Damien De Vie - would like him better with a fresher date
#4 Chisum - Myrick to Sugg, very positive angle
Race 8
#1 Praying For A Win - praying for a dry track, too many angles to count
#6 Keep Counting - big time class relief, I'll overlook the break on that bad track
#9 Ben Mor Lane - more class relief, good effort two back
#2 Freedom Hall - back on the gate, has potential
Race 9
#5 Vrahos Again - fresh set of hands
#2 Rose Run Fritz - third start back, looked much improved last start
#6 Trytopass Sam - the beaten favorite moves back outside
#1 Mr Mime - grabs the rail, questionable form
Race 10
#2 Covered Connection - locked in early, Matt won't make that mistake again
#9 Take Down Hall - big time form reversal last week, can't like the post
#4 Art's Baker - won handily, but it was a quirky kind of race behind him
#1 Silent Steel - back on the gate, won't need to do too much to grab a check
Race 11 Long Shot Special
#4 Coin Of The Realm - more pace last week than we've ever seen from him
#8 Heres Hooter - Eidens qualified him in 2:01, what can Merriman do with him?
#9 Idealized Print - class dropper fits much better with these
#3 Boogie Wonderland - confident last week, could make the jump
Race 12 Ugly Alert
#2 See Buns - should have the lead, these don't pass much
#6 Parisian Bromac - tried the big move and was swallowed up, a more controlled trip could win it
#4 Kueken - calling Dan's number a lot tonight, typical Monday at Northfield
#1 Sinner's Last Ride - hasn't raced in a while, wasn't all that good when last he did
Race 13
#2 Bigboppr Bluegrass - hope he does as well on a dry track
#1 The Pan Coulee Dam - post shift has to help, as well as the class drop
#7 Buzz Hershey - still like the horse, post and driver are both issues
#4 Sporty Moran - fourth last week, could happen again
Good Luck
