Mondays have not been kind to me lately. Anyway here are the horses I like on tonight's (05/11) card:
Race 2 #6 Cam's Honey - broke on interference, then paced well to finish less than a length from the lead. Should be second favorite tonight with Merriman taking the most money. At 3-1 may be worth the risk.
Race 3 #5 PT Coal - usually don't wager maiden trotters, probably won't this one either, however this colt looks the best. Made a decent recovery after the second tier start and break on a sloppy track. Not a lot to beat in this race. Hard to pull the trigger as favorite however.
Race 6 #1 Fun Lady - the switch to Stahl is the key. The horse showed a bit of speed at Delaware last season, then won at Raceway two weeks later. Also first time claiming tag. May be worth the risk if Kakaley and Sugg take the majority of the money.
Race 7 #3 Thebigguyfromtown - have been waiting to play this guy. Finally draws a post in a field he should be able to beat. Raced pretty well against much better last week. Gets Stahl back in the bike which cinches in for me. The price may be right as well with Kakaley on the ML favorite and Merriman getting his usual support on the rail.
Race 8 #5 Sister Kathy - the stars seem to have aligned for this one. Third start back, third time lasix, and first time against claiming conditioners. Nothing else stands out in this race. It all depends on the price.
Race 10 #5 Winter Cruise - has improved every start of his sophomore season. Over matched last start, still paced credibly with a sub 29 second final quarter. Looks ready to beat this not so stellar group. Will be all over him if the 4-1 ML holds.
Race 11 #9 Fox Valley Mom - the best here, but no price, no bet. Second tier starts with young trotters is always risky anyway.
Race 12 #3 JTshadow - gets the class drop- and post relief, is the obvious choice, so I don't think the ML will hold. Still might be worth the risk in the 2-1 range.
Good Luck
