13 years ago today I heard the words - there will be no Chemo today the tests show you are in full remission. Those words are still vivid in my mind as if it happened yesterday.

Being a survivor - I chased a dream, getting involved in harness racing.
As anything else that one gets involved in you have good times and bad. You meet many people and some become very good friends.

The one thing I can tell you with a fact is I have met some of the most hardworking, and under appreciated people in the world. Yes there may be some bad apples in racing (just like everything in life), but overall there are some great people who scrape by doing a job they love that is taking care of horses.

This sport, business whatever you want to call it would be nothing without the caretakers. God bless them all.

Now for the selections

Race 1
#7 Dontgetintheway – raced well last week – good chance to repeat
#3 Delivered Rules – capable if he stays flat
#1 Up Front Guy 3 straight thirds – why no make it 4

Race 2
#4 Sun Of A Victory – I like that Lebanon line
#2 Krissy K – always has to be considered
#9 Touch Of Nay will be coming late and could hit the tickt a t a price

Race 3
#1 Nessa Rose – only question is can she handle a half
#5 Dancin Thea – Racing well gets Northfields Ace
#2 Fox Avenue Mom – could win this with the right trip – don’t overlook her chances

Race 4
#1 Take Five – has to be considered off that last mile
#7 Up Front Carl – would be my top choice if not for the invader- big shot to win
#2 Osbornes Bullet – Gets Stahl and what appears to be a pocket trip

Race 5
#3 Best Of Ball – has yet to lose a start for purse money
#1 Jellyfish Joy – one of my favorite horses to bet – should get a great trip
#7 Hoosier Cruiser – last mile was huge – a repeat of that and she wins

Race 6
#9 Elm Grove Gerson – draws inside and will get in the flow early
#2 Polo Joe – takes another jump in class – so connections feel confident
#4 Slade Gram – in soft and she will be in contention throughout

Race 7
#4 Osboren’s Yankee – looks like a good one – caution he is a 3yr old facing older
#6 Linn’s Dream – drops off 2 solid efforts – should be in contention here
#9 Keystone Swinger –racing well – and I have a feeling this barn will have a good night

Race 8
#2 Wildfire Osborne – should handle these with ease
#1 Robinmeblind – should get decent early position – and she finished her last 2 with pace
#6 Stablecreekcruiser – getting better with each start

Race 9
#7 Allthatnabagofchip – qualifier to keep him tight- and he appears ready
#1 Sam’s Falsh may be coming into form at the right time
#2 Mafia Princess – was out a long way in last to get a check

Race 10
#3 Mr Kite – in a little softer – has a chance here
#1 Super Max N – gets Charlino and the rail 2 big pluses for a horse in need of a wake up call
#9 Liftoff Bayama – may be the best horse in here – but he appears to be in for a tough trip

Race 11
#4 Rose run Keepsake – closest thing to a lock tonight
#1 Northmedo Esther – has the rail and should work out a decent trip
#4 Curly Top – Has done very well for owner,trainer,driver

Race 12
#9 Uncle Josh – if he gets into the outer flow early he should handle these
#1 happytime – has to stay flat
#2 JD’s Houdini – form is real suspect- but he is in pretty soft

Race 13
#4 Bologna Lips - 3rd start back – has raced well in last 2 – his week to win
#1 Handsome Jack – should get a better journey this week and that makes him a threat
#9 Conductors Timeout - better than the rest

Race 14
#1 Ryans Hall - - drops, gets the rail and Aaron
#6 Three Sox Missing – should pick up a little tonight with Charlino in the bike
#5 Speedway Joe lightly raced 7 yr old who finishes his miles pretty good- could win at a price

Should have one racing at Northfield this week if we draw in. As the Rat mentioned the claim of She' So. Different then most I have owned. This one is actually sweet in the barn. I usually end up with ones that have a mental deficiency, so I am not sure if this is good or bad.

To early to tell what we have - but what interested me the breeding - and she was competitive in 8's last year at the Meadows before going through a series of claims that seemed to have her form regress with each new barn. With appearance that her form was starting to turn - I thought it would be worth a shot.

Only time will tell

Kevin will be the trainer and as far as drivers go I may make a suggestion now and then, but usually leave that up to him, if after a few drives I don't believe the driver is getting the most out of the horse for whatever reason then I may get adamant about not using a driver.
Only twice have I ever told a trainer not to use one. The first was after a driver chose off my horse after driving it the week before and then he claimed it ( never drove one of mine again), the other was when I was told by someone prior to a race exactly how my horse would be driven so he would not hit the ticket. He either was informed or was the best psychic I ever met. Need less to say that was the other time I told a trainer not to use so and so.
