The driver's colony at Northfield is constantly changing. It is just my opinion , E Deaton will become the go to driver at Ohio's top track ( actually i think he is almost 100 % recovered from the injury he was sidelined by)! The other driver's i have been taking a second look at of late are W Irvine , Sam Schillaci and Todd Jones.
The driving by W IRVINE has been terrific for the past couple of months. He has certainly been driving with confidence as exhibited by the example below from last night's 5th race.
WERE IN LUCK 6 1°/T 1/1Q 1/5 1/12 1/14T 1:54.1 27.3 2.80 Irvine, Wyatt W. Ehrhardt, Kevin L.

Regarding Wyatt Irvine, I have heard comments throughout the grandstand and they are borne out by his improved driving, that the new bike he got this Spring has really helped his self-confidence. It seems the improvement in driving came concurrently with the acquisition of the new bike. Anyone know what kind of bike that is? We can get one for the Giss and he can give up his PR job with Northfield.

Hey , Trackrat ..our own champion handicapper Jimhorseman pointed out the new bike in a post several months ago , he mentioned Miller had one also , since he can't use it maybe he could sell it to the Giss or another driver in need of a confidence boost at Northfield these days!

Thanks for the shout out Believer. I've made a lot of money on Wyatt this year though I was disappointed with several of his drives this past Friday night. Don't laugh, but keep an eye on Jason Thompson. He recently purchased a bike similiar to Wyatt's and with it has run on the ticket at some big prices in recent weeks. He still is learning how to use it. For example in this past Friday's 14th race he had the bike on Mystical Worker and despite giving the horse a brutal ride getting parked the mile in a speed duel he still drew off to win. I think the bike combined with an unbelievable front bias that night helped the horse win more than the driver. Thompson will probably; as Wyatt did, get more comfortable with the bike in the weeks to come. As he does sharp handicappers can catch some nice odds on his horses as he will still not be bet by public that will still see him as a lower tier (unbettable) driver. Just be careful as Thompson (as well as many others with a bike) don't always use it. When I do see it I'm more apt to take a second look at the horse.

Yep, with an AdvantEdge bike, I coul dfinish second in a match race! Seriously, I think you will see a huge difference in Jason's driving simpky because the bike fits him. He is so d**n tall that the traditional bikes seemed to have hinm almost "hunched up." I may be making a couple fair appearances this summer if my health and soccer responsibilities allow me to, but you can all breath a sigh of relief regarding any upcoming drives at Nortfhield-- it'll be next year at the soonest.
