This article was posted on the USTA web site:
Northfield, OH --- Driver Elliot Deaton is having the best year of his career, and as of Monday afternoon he is just two wins shy of the 1,000 career victory mark.
Deaton, whose best single year had been 2000, in which he won 169 races and $601,000, already has 225 wins and over $800,000 in purses earned this year.
His great year has been fueled, in part, by the success of his brother, trainer Mark Deaton. Mark, who counts Gates Mills Stables, Rich Paltani, Carol Cunningham, Kim Sloan, and Darby’s Edge Stable among his clients, is also having a career year, harnessing 120 winners from 582 starters, with 113 of those coming locally.
He is engaged in a battle with Jodi Schillaci for the Northfield training championship, a competition that Schillaci leads by just four winners with one month of racing to go. Mark also trains a few that Elliot owns, making for a powerful one-two Deaton punch.
The brothers were born in Middletown, Ohio, between Cincinnati and Dayton, and started their careers at Lebanon Raceway.

Nice article Keith, but you forgot Sharon Fisher and Gerald Goldberg as owners. Two of my favorite horses have been breed by Gerald Goldberg; U R Foxy and Charge Off.
