WEG Makes Changes To Condition Sheet
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Toronto, December 4, 2009… With the intent on rejuvenating some potential interest in claiming horses, Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) has made some changes to its Condition Sheet beginning with the entry draw for Thursday, December 10.
On the newest Condition Sheet, owners and trainers will notice optional claiming prices added onto various conditioned classes from non-winners of $8000 in the last 6 starts all the way up to non-winners of $35,000 over the same number of starts. Optional claiming prices will scale as high as $150,000 for the non-winners of $35,000 class.
“We’ve had discussions with the leadership of COSA, and believe this is a worthwhile exercise to try and stimulate some claiming activity,” said Scott McKelvie, WEG’s Standardbred Racing Secretary. “It’s the perfect time of year to try and see if there’s interest out there for owners to both price and claim horses.”
