By post time, the rain should have stopped, but the wind will be gusting to 50MPH, so it will be a factor. Perhaps Giss can provide us with a horseman's opinion on what problems this kind of wind presents, as far as racing with or without cover, direction of the wind on the backstretch or in the stretch... Does a heavier driver have an advantage? Not that the Giss would have any PERSONAL knowledge of that.

Just got back from Dunkin Donuts.... wind is fiercely gusting above 50mph. Don't know how they can safely race tonight, but we'll see.

Northfield has only cancelled for weather reasons once in recent memory ( the horseman couldn't find the track the snow was so deep) and they also cancelled a few times because the power was out and the judges wouldn't accept the driver's with the miner style lights strapped to their helmet ! ;D

Not that I have personal knowledge, but I would think a heavier driver (within limits) WOULD be beneficial to helping the bike track in the wind.
Also, wind affects trotters far more than pacers, as they need to be better balanced to stay on stride (even with trotting hopples).

I used to do pretty well betting Gerry Bookmyer on an off-track.
