Friday Night, March 19, 2010 Recap: For the second racing night in a row, Jimhorseman marched to the cashier's windows and collected over three grand. In last night's ninth race, Jim fashioned a $5 trifecta key wager that returned $3453.50 (2.5 x $1381.40) using #7 Jenabel with Dan Charlino in the sulky as his lead horse. After sitting eighth and last to the three quarter mark, Charlino came storming home in 28.4 to win a three-horse photo at the wire, over #3 JJs Request and #6 Betty Jack. Jimhorseman cut Trackrat's lead in half but the rodent STILL sits atop the leader board by $3K.
The Believer crafted a nice $15 trifecta key wager in the eighth race that paid $1434 (7.5 x $191.20), using#1 Peggy Spur over #5 Susannah Coe and #4 She's So Cool. Ken Koch, who several of us pointed out earlier in the week was good with trotters, urged the winner past the runnerup at the wire in 200.3.
Therealmuljuice also liked Jimhorseman's lead horse in the ninth, but only used her in a $1 key wager covering the rest of the field. His $42 adjusted wager returned $876.10. Cliff hit a $50 early daily double for $240 (25 x $9.60).
Looks like the handicapping contest is heating up, with seven programs left in March. Still plenty of time to catch the leader and four contenders have over $2500 left in their bankrolls. Good luck to everyone on what looks to be a dry but cool night of racing tonight.
