Monday Night, April 26, 2010 Recap: It took less than two minutes on Monday night for this month's contest to take on a new complexion with a runaway leader, Cliff, the guru of Northfield Park handicappers, taking a commanding lead with only two programs remaining. Cliff bet $100 to win on #7 GE's Antonio in the seventh race and keyed the same horse in a superfecta wheel. Cliff's pick was ninth at the quarter, eighth at the half, fourth at the 3/4 but came storming home almost a full second faster than the rest of the field to win by a quarter length in 157.1 at 12-1 odds. Cliff's win wager paid $1340 (50 x $26.80) and the superfecta paid a whopping $7107.60 on the $1 base wager.
In other wagering action, Hundredtowin cashed two $100 win tickets, one in the third race for $200 and one in the ninth race for $140. Trackrat cashed a $10 trifecta box wager in the eighth for $196 (5 x $39.20).
Good luck to everyone on Friday night's Fillies and Mares card.
