Under the current rules, after the 7 o'clock Northfield post time, a contestant may only change his contest wager(s) because of a scratch in the race in question. The process for changing the wager is listed in our rules, which are enumerated in this section of the forum.
I am proposing that we also allow a change in contest wagers whenever there is a driver change on the horse being wagered.
With the frequent absences of one or more top tier drivers in the recent past, I think this rule change would be fair.

Trackrat:
I like the proposed rule change. I generally put my contest wagers in the evening before or morning of race day as I can never be assured I'll be home from work before 7 p.m. It would be helpful if a wager affected by a perceived negative driver change could be altered.

Would it make any sense to have a deadline of the first 7 races at 7PM and a later deadline, yet to be determined, at a later time for the last half of the card? This might help a lot of handicappers with not only dirver changes, but also a lot of other factors involved in handicapping (track condition, track bias...), while hopefully not putting too much work on Trackrat while figuring out results.

LOL don't matter to me,but what about the driver change for the better driver.like monday when Clair got off his drives and put Dan Kennedy up.lol.I must confess,i was at the track Monday, and when i saw the change i looked at the race a little better,i dug in my pocket and went ALL-IN on Dan and Scoremania. And with that said, what about the people who make thier wagers from home, and then head out to watch live racing.I may be wrong but i think i saw a track-rat climbing on a license plate in the parking lot on monday.lol

I l ike the idea of being able to change your wager due to a driver change. I also think that having two cut-off points for posting wagers during the evening (one for the first half, and one for the last half of the racecard) might be a great idea. Besides any handicapping advantages, it would also allow the working man who gets home after 7Pm the ability to participate which sounds like it would help out a lot of participants (including me).
Obviously, if this creates too much work- it won't work.
