Our big pool harness tracks are limited to the Meadowlands & the Canadian mile tracks and I really dislike betting both. The Meadowlands seems to me to be a quarter horse race where at the top of the stretch they all fan out 6 or 7 across and have a sprint to the finish. Jim, the track you're describing is Balmoral, where I think the stretch drive must be close to a quarter mile long. There it does look like the Oklahoma land rush at times (well, most times). I've found the Meadowlands to be quite a very tactical track. There is an opening sprint to get position, the leader does try to slow the pace, which quite often leads to a backside brush for the lead. Drivers edge out trying to flush cover, and the closers try to stay covered as long as possible (sometimes too long, and never get into the race.) The third quarter sets up the stretch drive (much like Northfield and other half milers. There is no passing lane, so the pocket sitter must find the room to come out and challenge. All the regular M1 drivers are good, and it amazes me how patient they can be, waiting for the exact moment to make their move. The other thing I like about the track, is that post position is much less important. The outside posts, 9 & 10, are very bettable with the right horse and driver. Like you, I was a half mile devotee most of my life, but I've come to really like the Meadowlands (not so much the other milers). I sort of think of it as a half mile track on steroids.

Cliff:
As usual you are correct and I'm thinking of Balmoral with the calvalry charge to the finish. I do bet some at The Meadowlands and consider it the most playable of the big tracks.
To Junior:
As per the overnight sheets Sugg is returning to Buffalo Friday night and a few of his horses drew very soft fields. Enticing Attack is on the rail and only has one horse to beat (My Girl Lora). It looks to me as if Sophisticated Katy wins by open lengths later in the card. I'll look a bit more closely when the program comes out but at first glance Memphis Glow and in the opening race Big Sapphire could be interesting plays.

Junior:
I think both Enticing Attack (race 5) and Sophisticated Katy (race 12) should be easy Sugg wins at Buffalo. With Katy I'm going to try the 2 and 7 horses behind her.
Memphis Glow is interesting and I'll be using the horse with the 3 Pembroke Primo & the 5 Miss Walker. Interesting on Miss Walker is the trainer/driver change. Luther was training and Whisman driving at Buffalo with Miss Walker and Luther was still listed as trainer while the horse was at Tioga. Suddenly the new trainer is John Mungillo with Jimmy McNeight now driving. For that reason alone I think Miss Walker may be vulnerable.
A couple others for you. Redneck Reindeer and Ken Holliday should jog in he 8th race open handicap. Swift Energy; again with Sugg driving, has an honest chance at what should be decent odds in race 9.
Good Luck !!!
