When I am struggling at Northfield, which is most of the time now, I can usually hold my own at Yonkers by playing angles. For those who follow Yonkers, it's pretty much common knowledge that the PP 1-4 are dominant and it is rare that a horse in an evenly matched field wins from the outside.
Tonight, the Trackrat struck gold in the last race at Yonkers when Jimmy Pantaleano drove the 50-1 longshot Keepthepeace from the #8 hole to victory. I had a $10 win ticket on it, paying $515. I had toyed with the idea of keying the #8 on top of a trifecta ticket and I'm glad I did not, because I would not have had the #7 for second. The trifecta paid 8-7-all for $2977 on a $2 wager.

You know Track, I thought the same thing when on Monday I watched the 6 or 7 horse come in from the back. I always enjoyed betting Yonkers and we laughed how it was mostly combo's of 1234 that came in.
When I pointed out the oddity of the finish it was pointed out to me that they changed the race distance about a month ago to 1 1/16 from 1 mile.
This does change everything and might make Yonkers interesting to bet again.
