It's still not too late to make some money off of Tyler Smith. You can still get him at odds of 5-1 or longer and he will outdrive any of the permanent Northfield driving colony. And he is already competitive with the commuting Northfield drivers (Aaron Merriman, Dan Charlino, Dan Noble and Elliott Deaton). Tyler even has that competitive edge to bring longshots in on the bottom of trifecta tickets, where some of the other drivers give up if they see they cannot win.
This teenager's skill level reminds me of Matt Kakaley except for the fact that Kakaley had Mickey Burke as a patron when he drove here.
Right now, Dan Noble is being overbet. Consider putting your money on Tyler when you see this happening.

You are right Trackrat , Tyler is a very aggressive driver but he will get his share of wins at better odds...eg R6 Monday night --he drove #6 Hardball to a win - $36
Trackrat , any driver using that new sulky ?

Wasn't Dan Noble suspended a few times for lengthy periods because of a substance abuse problem? Glad to see that he (apparently) has conquered his demons. The Noble family is one of Ohio's most successful harness racing families.

Ventured out to Northfield Tuesday night to find out that, once again, they have closed access to the second floor, so I had to sit with the riff raff on the main floor. After touting Tyler Smith on Monday, I let him go off at 19-1 in the seventh race from the eight hole. Of course, he won.
Not to make the same mistake twice, I caught him at 20-1 odds in the tenth race for a win ticket of $438 (on a $20 ticket) and a $1 trifecta for $224.
Enjoy it while you can. He won't stay at Northfield chasing $50 paychecks very long.
