Had a $1 trifecta box on the 2-4-6-8 combination in the fifth race at Pocono Saturday night. The winning trifecta was 6-8-7, so I tossed my tickets in a pile of losing tickets on my betting carrel and looked away from the screen to check my Northfield program for an upcoming race.
At the last second, I looked back at the Pocono screen and saw that Pocono was paying off on the trifecta for 6-8-all, so I had a winning ticket after all. Paid $1300 on the $1 ticket.
If I had not looked back at the Pocono screen before it flashed over to the next race, I would NEVER had known that I threw away a winning ticket. Lesson learned here.
