Interesting value play in tonight's (10/31) 10th race. Take a look at #5 Grand Firmation. Brett Miller won a couple easily at Scioto last month with this filly. She then shipped to Indy where she looked sub par even though she was in tough. This past week at Leb on a horrible track she made a brush to the lead in the third quarter to just miss at 17-1 against some of the better mares they have stabled there.
Looks like she's back in form, gets my money driver, Todd Jones in the bike, against a field that has many questions. Morning line favorite Jessie Franco draws outside and had disappointed chalk bettors in recent weeks. No telling how sharp Kris Mouse Mindale will be after that brutal trip this past weekend. Mr. Stahl (I'll call him Mr. Stahl from now on...without the accident last night, Mr. Stahl brings home a 12-1 winner and puts $2800 in my pocket...oh well, next week) catches the second tier with an improving Magical Punkin. Grismore and Deaton have pretenders in this race.
Eight to one seems very generous to me, but may be an accurate reflection of the bettors after all. Corky is always under valued with Grismore and Deaton attracting their share of the money. Looks like a pretty good value to win and could be the key for an otherwise chalky pic4.
Good Luck.
