I didn't invent or discover that axiom, but I am sure a believer (not to steal our host's thunder ). Last night's (11/06) 12th race, I was confident in my selection of Briar's Return, enough to make him my key horse of the night. The only other true speed horse, Petala was stuck in the second tier where he couldn't use that asset effectively. The other contenders had the class to compete, but with no early foot, there would be no pressure on my choice. Without pressure, my value driver, Ryan Stahl easily controlled the fractions. It was, for all intents and purposes, over at the half. What made it all the sweeter is that the money was spread around with all the inside horses taking action. It is uncommon these days to catch a race with only one speed horse. It is something to always keep an eye out for, and if that speed ball is in form with a driver that knows what he is doing, it's an automatic play, especially if the money is flowing elsewhere.
