Let's take a look at tonight's (Monday November 27) 10th race. this is a mixed bag of condition, claiming, and AE's. It's the one AE that they wrote a special condition (NW 4) to get into the race, that has caught my attention.
#6 Vivere at anything close to the M/L of 10-1 would appear to be an outstanding value. Take a look at the money this still young horse has won racing in the east. Take a look at the breeding. Look at the betting support he got last week in his first start since June. But more importantly take a look at the race itself. From the tough second tier start the horse was locked in until the race was essentially over. When he finally shook loose, he sprinted to the wire failing to catch only the winner. That winner, Knob Hill Splash, going off as the prohibitive favorite, won like a 40 cent horse should.
The horse has demonstrated nice early speed in the past, but tonight with a couple of speed demons up front, JD won't be tempted to challenge early. The race should set up nicely for this horse who closed so willingly last week. The early fractions should be hot as several vie for position. I can see Wengerd in the outer flow and sweeping past in the lane for the upset. The price should be right with the inside horses splitting most of the betting support.
I may be a week early on this one, but at 8 or 10 to 1, he's a must play. He could also be the key to a very nice pic4 play.
Good Luck.
